What is Freeater?

Freeater is a comprehensive dietary restriction management ally to help people with food allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements or those caring for someone with a dietary restriction including children. Features include emergency contact feature and restaurant map and many more.

I'm not sure what my dietary needs are?

• Food allergies: mild to anaphylaxis peanut allergy
• Food Intolerance: Body has difficulty digesting a specific food/ingredient. Not usually serious, but can make you feel unwell
• Dietary requirements: several reasons e.g. medical conditions, religious beliefs or personal/lifestyle choices/preferences

Why isn't Freeater 100% free?

Freeater has a free version but is not 100% free. We simply can't exist without making money. We have employees, software costs and other expenses. As well as helping to innovate and improve your experience. Every Freeater+ membership helps is add more features to the app, maintain accuracy of information and expand Freeater's provision. If you have financial struggles and can't pay for it, you can request access to Freeater+.

Is Freeater Available on both Android and iOS?

Freeater is available on iOS. You can download it from the App store.

How do I tailor Freeater to my requirements?

When you sign up, you can select your allergies. Need to make changes later? No problem. You can update them anytime in your settings.

What is the allergy cards?

The Allergen Card is a personalised digital card that lists your allergies. It can be shared with restaurants, caregivers, or medical staff when dining out or travelling.

How does the eatery map work?

The eatery map shows eateries - cafes and restaurants which can meet some or all of your dietary restrictions. Filtered to your requirements.

What is the community hub for?

The community hub is a space where you can interact with others and connect, share experiences, and seek advice from others managing similar dietary restrictions. To ensure a safe and supportive environment, we have guidelines in place, which you can read more about here.

Can I use Freeater when travelling?

Freeater includes features like hospital and pharmacy locator (to be done), translation of dietary restriction into multiple languages. Future updates will ensure you can access all of the app features all over the world!

Is my personal information secure in the app?

Yes, Freeater prioritises your privacy by encrypting and securely storing all data. For more details, you can read our privacy policy here.

How does the child account work?

A child over 13 can have an account with more limited features. This can be managed by a parent account. Features can be toggled on and off here.
